New Zealand

Auckland	I flew into Auckland after about 23 hours of travel (18 in the air), arriving at 7am local time. The first two days were spent there, the third i took a day trip north to the Bay of Isles. This has the pictures for Auckland in general. The rest of the sections are in order as i move through the country.

Day Trip to Bay of Isles	I took a full day bus trip / cruise (7am through 8.30pm) north to see the Bay of Isles area, which included the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

Hobbiton	The only remaining set from LotR and only partial at that. Right in the middle of an active sheep far. According to the story of what happened. The only reason what survived did, was the rainy season coming in the middle of the delmolition delaying things 6 months, in which time, previous good graces from the owner of the sheep allowed them to leave the rest and start the tours.

Misc	I dunno, it says "Misc" on my directory name. Random stuff i took while traveling around.

Hamilton Gardens	Hamilton Gardens had a section of gardens in the style of other countries.

Rotorua	The Rotorua area is full of Maori culture and history, as well geothermal areas with hot springs and mud pools.

Orakei Korako	The Hidden Valley - Another geothermic area.

Huka Falls	As the title says, Huka Falls. Includes some pictures from a Jet Boat ride up to it.

Taupo & Misc Driving	Taupo area and some misc driving pictures.

Tongariro Nation Park Area	The Tongariro National Park area, and a hike it took in it to Taranaki Falls.

Ferry to Picton & Picton Area	Ferry crossing from north island to south island, and scenery around Picton on the south island.

Queen Charlotte Sound Kayaking	Kayaking on Queen Charlotte Sound

Abel Tasman National Park Walk	Took a water taxi into and out of Abel Tasman National Walk with a couple hour hike between sections between it.

Glacier Helitour	Helicopter tour out by Fox Glacier, around Mt Cook and then landing above Franz Josef Glacier and then down over the glacier.

Lake Matheson	Walk around Lake Matheson.

Fox Glacier	Walk up to Fox Glacier.

Travel to Lake Wanaka	Travel from the glacier area to Lake Wanaka

Queenstown	Queenstown is the adeventure center of New Zealand. If its something you've thought about doing, you probably can do it near by. I went rafting, and jetboating again, but thats about it. No skydiving or bungy jumping.

Doubtful Sound Cruise	Day trip out to and a cruise on doubtful sound.

Travel to Christchurch	Traveling from Queenstown to Christchurch.

International Antarctic Center	Home to the American, New Zealand and Italian Antarctic expiditions. All people heading to Antarctica from those countries go through here on their way.

Around Christchurch	Last day and a half in NZ I was in Christchurch. More or less like any city, not much like the rest of the towns/cities i had been to (other than Auckland and Wellington). In fact as I pulled into town, I came upon the first traffic light i had seen since coming onto the South Island. Some misc pictures from there.
